Abattoir Operative (Skilled and Unskilled)

We are currently seeking hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as Abattoir Operatives, to work in Hortonwood, Telford, in Shropshire.<br><br>As an Abattoir Operative you will play a vital role in the processing of meat products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards throughout the production process. Working from 7am, Monday to Friday, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand in the preparation of a fresh product.<br><br>Our ideal Abattoir Operative will be a reliable team player with excellent attention to detail, who is keen to learn and develop new skills.<br><br><strong>Main Duties And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Working in an active slaughterhouse with the use of knives and other equipment</li><li>Carry out all activities and roles within the abattoir in line with individual training matrix including rodding, legging , flanking etc.</li><li>Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets and meet customer demand.</li><li>Undertaking manual handling tasks, using equipment or machinery when required</li><li>Ensure strict adherence to quality, HSE, animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and handling processes.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Previous experience in a slaughterhouse or meat processing facility preferred but not essential, as training is fully provided.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.</li><li>Willingness to handle and work with animal carcasses.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.</li><li>We also welcome applications from candidates who have knife handling experience in other roles (not necessarily a butchery environment) who wish to start a career in Meat Processing Industry.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Information And Benefits<br><br></strong><ul><li>Competitive Rates of Pay dependent on skills and experience</li><li>Eligible for Production Bonus</li><li>On-the-job training and opportunities for advancement</li><li>Free car parking on site</li><li>Working hours Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm</li><li>Opportunities for overtime as per business needs</li></ul>
