Would you like to help a health research group, whose guiding principle is that prevention is better than cure?<br><br>Here's an opportunity to use your experience and skills to help our Board of Trustees run smoothly and achieve more.<br><br>What difference will you make?<br><br>By helping our Board of Trustees run smoothly, you'll help us achieve more - including using our research findings to reduce health inequalities and avoid health here in the UK being such a postcode lottery.<br><br>What are we looking for?<br><br>We'd like to hear from you, if you have<br><br><ul><li>At least five years professional UK experience in a relevant administrative role or roles.</li><li>Experience of organising and servicing in-person, hybrid and virtual meetings. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to draft accurate and succinct minutes and emails.</li><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability and desire to learn to use new software. </li><li>Strong time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.</li><li>Proven capability in managing sensitive, confidential information.</li><li>The ability to apply skills and knowledge to run efficient governance processes and to take initiative to identify and address areas that can be improved.</li><li>Commitment to our guiding principle that prevention is better than cure.<br><br></li></ul>Remote<br><br>What will you be doing?<br><br><strong>Meetings of the Board of Trustees <br><br></strong>Check the most convenient dates for Trustee meetings, and advise Trustees once the Chair has agreed a date.<br><br>Liaise with the Chair to prepare and then distribute the agenda and papers a week in advance.<br><br>Attend 3- 4 virtual Board meetings a year, record attendance, and take minutes, identifying any action agreed and who it is agreed will take the action.<br><br>Distribute approved minutes to all Trustees within 2 weeks of the Board meeting.<br><br>Maintain a record of terms of office, and advise the Chair when Trustees are eligible for re-appointment and when they are coming to the end of their final term of office.<br><br>Help make arrangements for the recruitment of new Trustees.<br><br>Ensure all new Trustees receive appropriate letters of appointment and induction material.<br><br>Maintain confidentiality.<br><br><strong>Board Policies<br><br></strong>Track and monitor the review cycles of organizational policies and procedures.<br><br>Co-ordinate and monitor policies and procedures reviews and maintain the policies register.<br><br>Ensure that information on Trustees is kept in line with GDPR requirements.
