Job Description

  • Teach assigned classes together with the associated preparation and correction.
  • Develop the school curriculum.
  • Assess, record and report the work of pupils.
  • Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
  • Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
  • Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
  • Work in partnership with parents, support staff, and other professionals.
  • Undertake appropriate and agreed Continuing Professional Development.
  • Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
  • Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.

The Individual

  • Applications will also be considered from applicants who are provisionally registered and are able to take up unpromoted permanent positions on a temporary basis. Full‑time posts are also suitable for applicants wishing to apply on a job‑share or part‑time basis.

Regulated Role

This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. It is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment by Moray Council.
