King Abdullah University of Sciences and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for a faculty position in Emerging Semiconductor Materials and Devices. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in areas such as flexible and large area electronics, neuromorphics, energy harvesting and sensors/detectors. We invite applications from dynamic individuals with demonstrated expertise in the design, processing, and characterization of advanced semiconductors — including organic, hybrid, and 2D materials. Applicants should demonstrate a strong track record of fundamental and applied research with a vision for translating fundamental discoveries into real-world applications.

Experience in technology commercialization, industry collaboration, or entrepreneurial activities, including startup formation, is highly desirable.

We particularly encourage applications from candidates at the Assistant Professor rank, individuals with demonstrated translational research and entrepreneurship skills.

The Physical Science and Engineering Division (PSE) at KAUST encompasses five Academic Programs: Materials Science and Applied Physics, Earth Systems Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the Dean to determine their home program.

Applicants must hold a relevant Ph.D. degree and possess a minimum of two years of post-Ph.D. experience with an excellent publication record. Other qualifications that can enhance an application include evidence of the applicant’s ability to supervise students and manage a research group, evidence of securing external funds, entrepreneurship, translational research skills, and collaboration with industry.
