Floating Support Worker – City of Westminster, Greater London

<p>Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.</p> <p>Our client is recruiting a Floating Support Worker to support clients across London. The service provides flexible, housing-related support to help individuals maintain their independence and sustain their accommodation, regardless of tenure type.</p> <p> * 37.5 hours per week</p> <p> * Monday – Friday</p> <p> * Shifts: Between 08:00 – 18:00 (core hours 10:00 – 16:00)</p> <p> * Temporary: approx. 2 months</p> <p> * £16.69 per hour (£14.89 per hour, with £1.80 holiday pay)</p> <p>Please note: This is a hybrid role. You will be based from the Vauxhall office and work across the community, supporting clients in their own homes. The role involves lone working and requires a minimum of 3 days per week working in the community.</p> <p>Key requirements:</p> <p> * Manage a caseload of up to 27 clients, delivering regular key work sessions and reviewing support plans</p> <p> * Complete comprehensive risk assessments and risk management plans</p> <p> * Provide housing advice, tenancy support and advocacy where required</p> <p> * Support clients to develop independent living, budgeting and household management skills</p> <p> * Assist clients moving into permanent accommodation, including property bids, viewings and resettlement</p> <p> * Liaise with local authority housing teams and landlords</p> <p> * Identify, report and follow up safeguarding concerns and incidents</p> <p> * Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to maximise support and resources</p> <p> * Support clients to access community activities that promote independence</p> <p> * Help clients access education, training and employment opportunities</p> <p> * Contribute to office duties and the drop-in service</p> <p> * Maintain accurate client records in line with policies and procedures</p> <p>What we’re looking for:</p> <p> * Experience of floating support</p> <p> * Experience supporting people with complex needs, including mental health, substance use, homelessness and offending</p> <p> * Understanding of budgeting, benefits, rent arrears and housing options</p> <p> * Experience providing person-centred support to vulnerable clients with complex needs</p> <p> * Ability to complete high-quality needs assessments and risk management plans</p> <p> * Ability to liaise effectively with partner agencies and service providers</p> <p> * Good understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment</p> <p> * Ability to work within a strengths- and recovery-based approach to promote independence</p> <p> * Competent IT skills, including accurate record keeping, emails and report writing</p> <p>Further requirements:</p> <p>In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:</p> <p> * Current valid right to work in the UK</p> <p> * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)</p> <p> * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)</p> <p> * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process</p> <p>How to apply:</p> <p>If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.</p> <p>*Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position</p>
