Manager, Marketing - UK Film

Overview

Netflix is one of the world\'s leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. We are looking to fill an integral role on the marketing team for a Manager of Marketing - UK Film, based in London. This is a great opportunity for a passionate creative and culture marketer to join a team that leads the development and launch of marketing campaigns across a diverse range of feature films produced in the UK.

Role

In this role, you will be a key contributor in strategising, executing and managing 360 marketing campaigns for Netflix films. We strive to not only build campaigns, but transform our properties into culturally relevant brands that connect with consumers and drive passionate followings.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support, and sometimes lead, on launch campaigns for UK-produced films—from global strategy development to creative execution, production to campaign rollout.
  • Act as the creative champion with a holistic vision for leading campaigns, but also handle the tactical day-to-day (brief writing, shoot planning, budgeting and managing overall campaign resources).
  • Act as the central cross-functional liaison among internal teams (region-based Marketing teams, PR, Publicity, Product and Social), focusing on managing workflow and addressing cross-functional feedback.
  • Act as the main point of contact with agencies—hiring, managing and giving feedback to create the best campaigns.

Who are we looking for?

This role is unique as it needs both a senior perspective and a team player attitude. The right candidate balances the vision and the people skills, the creative and the strategic. The ideal candidate:

  • Has a proven track record of building world-class creative and launching global campaigns for films and/or premium entertainment properties.
  • Has experience on multifaceted campaigns or entertainment properties with high commercial relevance in marketing partnerships, consumer products, advertising and brand teams.
  • Has experience forging strong relationships with title creative teams including talent, filmmakers and/or showrunners.
  • Is a cross-functional leader who can engage, listen and collaborate with internal departments to align early on overall strategy and goals, and to see cross-functional collaboration through launch.
  • Has deep knowledge in running a 360-campaign—from strategy development and building briefs to tactical execution (AV/trailers, digital/social, print and OOH).
  • Is able to communicate different facets of campaigns to executives, filmmakers, talent and talent representatives.
  • Has experience with marketing shoots, from development of creative and campaign ideas to planning and shoot execution (key art, AV, and digital/social).
  • Has experience evaluating and executing innovative campaign ideas within the media landscape (including OOH, Digital OOH and experiential).
  • Has exposure to global campaigns, with domestic and international reach; familiarity with teams from different regional markets is preferred.
  • Understands digital with emphasis on mobile, social, video and display, and can tell stories through ideas regardless of medium.
  • Understands the social media landscape and has experience developing culturally relevant, conversation-driving creative for social media fandoms.
  • Has a good understanding of marketing, social and media analytics and how to apply data to test and optimise campaigns.
  • Appreciates technology and can collaborate with Netflix’s product team to integrate off-service campaigns within the on-service member experience.
  • Is an effective collaborator in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment with multiple campaigns at once.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in entertainment marketing at a network/studio or creative agency working on campaigns (strategy, digital, print and AV).
  • Experience managing a high volume of campaigns in parallel with diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills with strategic and creative thinking and a comfort with ambiguity.
  • Passion for film.
