Part-Time Remote Payroll Administrator (Subcontractor) – UK Based

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team on a remote subcontractor basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys flexible working and has experience managing payroll for multiple clients.

As our workload varies throughout the month, we are looking for someone who is flexible and able to adapt to changing hours. The beginning of the month is generally quieter, with workloads increasing towards the end of the month as payroll deadlines approach.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be processing payroll accurately and on time for a variety of clients. There may also be opportunities to assist with ad hoc bookkeeping tasks, so experience using Xero and QuickBooks Online would be beneficial.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous payroll administration experience is essential.
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and payroll processes.
  • Experience using Xero and QuickBooks Online would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be based in the UK.
  • This is a self-employed subcontractor position.

Availability

  • You should be available to work at least three mornings per week.
  • Hours are flexible and will vary depending on the payroll cycle.
  • Some days may require only 2–3 hours, while busier periods (particularly towards the end of the month) may require 5–6 hours per day.
  • Flexibility is important, as workloads fluctuate throughout the month.
