Prep Kitchen Assistant and Service Support

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and eager to gain experience in a professional catering or restaurant setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with meal service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with hygiene regulations
  • Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
  • Ensure all food safety protocols are followed during food handling and storage
  • Support serving staff during meal service times as required
  • Assist with dishwashing and waste disposal to uphold cleanliness standards
  • Help in setting up dining areas for service and clearing after meals

Skills

  • Experience or interest in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards within a commercial kitchen
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
