Project Manager - Data Vendor Management

Technical Project Manager | Data | Investment Management

London | Permanent

Our client, a London based investment manager, is partway through a major data transformation, and Qh4 Consulting is now searching for a Project Manager to run one of its most important workstreams.

The role

You will lead the technical workstream of the programme, covering the build of a new data lakehouse and the delivery of third party investment data solutions. The defining feature of this role is the external dimension: much of what needs to land will be delivered with, or by, specialist data vendors, and you will own those relationships end to end.

That means directing vendors on scope, milestones and quality, managing commercials and escalations, and making sure external and internal delivery move as one plan. Inside the business you will orchestrate engineering, architecture and change teams; outside it, you will be the person the vendors answer to.

Why this role stands out

  • Ownership of a highly visible workstream at the centre of a flagship programme
  • Real commercial exposure: this is delivery with a supplier management edge, not plan tracking
  • Senior sponsorship, engaged stakeholders and an experienced delivery team around you
  • An employer known for developing its people, with a rewards package to match
What you'll bring
  • A proven project management record in investment or asset management, or wider financial services
  • Experience delivering data or technology change where third party vendors did much of the building
  • The commercial confidence to hold suppliers to account on milestones, quality and cost
  • Enough technical fluency to be credible in conversations about data platforms and integrations
  • Strong governance, reporting and stakeholder skills at a senior level
