OhMyFood is building the UK’s first home-cooked food marketplace platform for daily lunch and dinner delivering food at their home. We connect customers with freshly prepared meals made by talented local home chefs, bringing real, comforting food to people’s doorsteps.

Our mission is simple: make fresh, wholesome, home-cooked meals more accessible. No reheated dishes, no impersonal restaurant experience, just food that feels like home, cooked fresh and delivered in time for lunch or dinner.

We are currently preparing for our Phase 1 launch in London and are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to help ensure our platform is reliable, smooth, and ready for real customers, chefs, and delivery partners.

Role Description

This is a volunteer, remote role for our Phase 1 launch, with the potential to convert into a paid or full-time role as OhMyFood grows.

As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with the founding and engineering teams to test the OhMyFood platform across different user journeys, including customer ordering, chef onboarding, delivery flow, payments, and admin operations.

You will help identify bugs, improve testing processes, and make sure the product experience feels stable, professional, and easy to use before launch.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, structured, proactive, and excited to contribute to an early-stage food-tech startup.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and execute test cases for web and mobile user journeys.

Test key platform flows, including customer sign-up, chef sign-up, menu browsing, ordering, checkout, delivery tracking, and admin workflows.

Identify, record, and clearly document bugs with steps to reproduce, screenshots, logs, and expected behaviour.

Work closely with developers and product team members to verify fixes and retest issues.

Evaluate the current testing process and suggest improvements where needed.

Support regression testing before releases and launch campaigns.

Perform manual testing across different browsers, devices, and screen sizes.

Help ensure the platform is reliable, user-friendly, and ready for real-world usage.

Maintain clear QA documentation, test reports, and bug-tracking records.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in QA testing, software testing, or a related role.

Good understanding of manual testing, test case design, bug reporting, and regression testing.

Experience testing web applications, mobile apps, marketplaces, or consumer platforms.

Ability to write clear bug reports with proper reproduction steps and screenshots.

Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, Notion, Linear, GitHub Issues, or similar bug-tracking tools.

Basic understanding of APIs and tools like Postman is a plus.

Automation testing experience using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to think from a customer’s perspective.

Self-driven, organised, and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced startup environment.

Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.

Experience in food-tech, e-commerce, delivery platforms, marketplaces, or hospitality products is a plus.
