About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and personable Venue Host to support community and customer events at our commercial venue in Old Street, London.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organised, and can confidently manage a venue independently during evening events. You will act as the on-site representative, ensuring event organisers have everything they need and that the venue is operated safely and professionally.

Hours:

Primarily evenings, typically 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Contract:

Flexible / Part-Time

Salary

: £150 per event

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and welcome event organisers and attendees.
  • Open and prepare the venue before events.
  • Carry out basic venue checks and ensure rooms are event-ready.
  • Remain on-site throughout the event as the primary point of contact.
  • Provide basic support with venue facilities and event logistics.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct a post-event walkthrough.
  • Securely close and lock the venue at the end of the event.
  • Escalate any venue issues or incidents to the appropriate team.

  • Ability to remain calm and proactive when handling unexpected issues.
  • Previous experience in events, hospitality, venue operations or community management is desirable but not essential.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Flat-rate payment of £150 per evening community event attended.
  • Expenses are submitted via a simple claim form and paid through payroll.
  • All approved train or public transport travel costs are covered up to £20.
